I've been frantically cleaning things so everything is nice and tidy for the passing of the year, but I got some time to draw something as commemoration! I tested some new brushes and coloring techniques to try and mimic japanese watercolors and sumie brushes for this drawing, not sure if it worked as it should, but I really liked the result! (δΊΊ*Β΄βο½*)
Anyways, these are my trainersona with his* PokΓ©mon! Bonbon looks like she's having fun on pounding the mochi, a typical japanese tradition for new years, while Hanabi seems to be catching on her energy. The outfit Ryo is wearing is his Ho-oh priestess attire, I'd love to give more detail on that sometime later when regarding his development, but that's why the clothes resemble Ho-oh :3c
2019 is the chinese year of the pig, so I drew my favorite pig-like PokΓ©mon with us, too~ Β΄v` Might as well hunt a shiny Spoink sometime, they're so cute! Hope everyone has a great New Year celebration! β¨πβ¨
*(he's genderfluid and prefers male pronouns, but his biological gender is female and Ecruteak's shinto customs regard him as such, hence why the attire he's wearing is strickly female)

And thanks! My trainersona has affiliations with Ecruteak's dance teather and the kimono girls, who hold rituals for Ho-oh, so that's why the shrine maiden outfit closely resembles Ho-oh itself! I plan on give more lore on that sometime later, I'm really fond of the development I made on it.
