Normally I don't post stuff from the comic I'm developing, since it's not furry and I want to stay on-topic, but since this one has an animal-based critter in it I thought it might fly. I haven't released too many details, but basically the masked person is a female, once an evil minion but now on the run from mysterious assailants. For now, that's all the detail you're gettin'.
Today's offering is a test page, just playing around with narrative and layout. I really like the borderless section at the bottom, and there's a lot in here that turned out pretty much how I wanted. Still a lot I need to work on, but some initial experiments (such as using Microns for lettering and backgrounds/ground shadows, and dip pen for characters/creatures) seem to be bearing fruit. As well, this is the first time I've designed a monster, and I think it turned out pretty well. I bet nobody can figure out what creature it's based off of, though.
In case you're wondering, the boy (who seems to be named Ted or something, I'm still not sure) says something along the lines of "We've got to run" at the end of the previous page, leading into this bit of dialogue from Minion. The actual comic will probably play this out a bit differently, but it's a pivotal moment where she stops being on the run, and starts to take the fight to whoever's hunting her. Needless to say, the (theoretical) next few pages are pretty nasty.

Sloth! I wouldn't mind seeing a full drawing of her fask. Cuase... well... I couldn't tell she was wearing a mask. First thing that came to mind was a doppelganger. BUT seeing as we would already know she's wearing a mask I don't think that would be a big problem... right? XD
Haha! Yes, you actually got it right, the monster is based largely on the now-extinct ground sloth, although there's a little modern sloth in those claws too. The faces on the modern ones are entirely too human, and make kinda lousy monsters.
As to the other, I have a couple of other images, which give you a better idea of Minion's design. Hope you like them.
