Razira's bare feet sank slightly into the freshly fallen snow as she walked through some unnamed location in the Canadian wilderness. The only thing her sensitive ears picked up were the sounds of the bone-chilling breeze ruffling what was left of the trees around her, and that of the snow as it crunched under her every footstep.
Despite the flames around both of her hands, thanks to her mutant ability to generate fire, and the thick fur which insulated her body, she was cold. Really cold. If it wasn't for the large clawed footprints in the snow that she'd been following for the last mile or so, she would've been in the air, her fiery side wreathed around her to keep her airborne. And much warmer.
Then again, it was only dumb luck that she'd spotted the what she was told were draconic footprints in the first place. And she was afraid that she'd lose them if she went into the air. So for now at least, she was on the ground.
Raz didn't have much more time with her thoughts as what she thought was a fallen tree covered with snow exploded outward, sending powder everywhere. As it settled, she stared in surprise at what looked to be a young dragon, perhaps fifteen feet tall or so at the shoulder, on its hind legs, wings outstretched. And it was as white as the snow it was standing upon. Blocking the afternoon sun, it glared at her with bright blue eyes as frost shot out of its nose.
"So that's why you were invisible to any thermal cameras," she said to the creature as she put one foot forward, brought her hands up in a ready stance, and crouched down a bit for better balance. "You're an ice dragon. Clever girl."
"Leave now or be eaten!" the dragon roared.
Raz looked at the beast confidently as her fiery power engulfed both of her clawed hands. "No to both parts. You're coming back with me."

This beautiful picture of a completely confident Razira despite what she's facing was a commission from
howlite. I'm in love with how this turned out and that expression is my favorite part of the picture for sure. And I have to mention just how fantastically the colors and armor detail turned out. Even the footsteps in the snowy landscape help bring the entire picture to life.
Thank you again, howlite!
