Fekkri comes from the grasslands of Caephor, where his family was part of a nomadic tribe that had strong connections to the sea, the sky, and the druidic circle of beasts. His mother was an archdruid of the circle of the moon, and the feathered earring / amulet served as her druidic focus - an arcane focus that anchors her connection to the earth around her. Fekkri held on to both items when they were separated, and believes they are what allowed him to eventually find her and save her.

It's a fictional universe, of course, but most fiction has some basis in reality! Druids in D&D have strong influences from several places, but the most prominent influence is ancient Celtic druidism!
