Sci-fi, but it switches from retro to industrial and futuristic. It's an ever-evolving tale of humanity adapting to life outside Earth, meeting aliens, and trying to overcome the bad parts of their own natures. A lot of it touches on current issues like drone warfare and genetic engineering, and turns concepts like rebellion and liberation on their head.
