Day 33a - Quick pose studies part 1 of ?
noum-anon suggested that I do gesture drawing practice for poses. I decided to take some photos from the web, with the help of a friend and use them as fodder to do speed sketches out of. This is set 1, more for today will probably be coming.

Good, a speed sketch shows a nice grasp of form when you see it. :) More proof that it doesn't need ears and a tail to have a place on FA and an artists development. (though if anyone complains you could always do a sandwich shoop ;) ). Again, very good demonstration of form. And I like how you managed to put in the hair as well :)
Damnit I wrote a comment but I didn't post it. In summary:
Very nice job. I especially like the one on the left; pose is natural in real life, but pretty uncommon in art. Her left foot stands out -- it looks like it took five seconds at most, and it captures the shape of the foot perfectly. I also like the way the shoulder muscles bunch up in the middle one; very lively.
How is the weight distributed in the one on the right? I know you drew them from reference, but if she's leaning forward like that it looks like her back heel should be lifting.
The is really excellent, overall. There are some fat ankles and things, but you know your body anatomy, so I'm not even going to go into it. The goal was fast and expressive -- Borat says, this has success!
