2018 Holidays - Saviour Akira - By D-Tron Austin

Normally i would not post somebody else's characters here, but this is the holidays, and 2019 id the year where Akira is canonically set. So enjoy a pair of wonderful fanarts i commissioned.
The comic already has "religious/becoming better" tones, with the human nature staying well present up until the end. I just asked "something funny" to go with it. I hope this will be appreciated.
Also: Nah... this is totally not gore-y i'm suuuuuuuuuuure that's paint. Totally sure. Some idiots are just messy with their paints, that's all.

Yeah, they are pretty scrawny and malnourished... but they also got people with psychic powers that stop bullets like the matrix and explosions as if they had a shield, and make you implode from the inside soooooo armor isn't much use. Mechs work better. They can drive you away fast and usually they work almost in melee distance, where mecs also have the advantage of "assisted punching and crunching" 🤣👍
I mean, that stuff above probably is just paint... but i'd not take my chances in case it is, in fact, not paint. 🤣👍

It was this sonorous chant that went on when the pysker kids were revealed, and when Tetsuo was losing control of his body.
The voices were kind of throat-singing it, but the chant was so unmistakably like Cookie Monster just repeating "Doo-Dah" it was still ridiculous.

they sound nothing alike and also... uhm... those are not the cookie monster things.
They are literally buddhist chants. It starts by repeating "glory all Buddahs" in sanskrit then it moves onto buddhist rites for some of their religious celebrations.

Ah... my (very disrespectful) mistake. I saw the film once, and that was my lingering impression.
But I really do have a hard time reconciling the sounds with the emotional attitudes and impressions of the scenes, so it was hard to take them seriously as a result.
A similarly distracting effect would be if Gandalf had his staredown with the Balrog to 'Yakkity Sax.' One part of the combo is grave and somber, but the other is high-energy and panicky.
But I really do have a hard time reconciling the sounds with the emotional attitudes and impressions of the scenes, so it was hard to take them seriously as a result.
