As the Universal Retcon caused by The World chugged along, Gumball quickly discovered the new, secondary set of memories coming to her in regards to her childhood as ‘Bubblegum’, and they weren’t really as cool as she hoped.

From a young age, little Bubblegum idolized her mother and wanted to be just like her, and so she put a lot of energy and effort into studying and learning martial arts with hopes of making a her own mark.

One day, however, little Bubblegum found herself experiencing a rather unlucky set of events leading to her failing not only a big test that she studied hard for, but also losing an important match that she had prepared for.

Instead of just picking herself back up as her mother said, Bubblegum decided that the idea of failure always being a possibility when one tries was just too much of a bother. As such, her mind decided that the best solution was to just not try and skip right to the failure stage.

And so it was on that day that a child who idolized and took after her mother, ended up switching gears and taking after her father. Perhaps one day she can find the spark that she lost!
