My part for the awesome Paleo_Exchange on LJ. :) Sonia the parasaurolophus's creator said that she would like something of her dinosaur singing, so...yeah. :)
First off, this was a lot of fun because it really made me do my homework, so to speak. It's been aaaages since I drew a dinosaur (yeah I'm a prehistoric critter freak, betcha never guessed!) and so I really had to do some research about parasaurs.
Secondly, I had fun because I felt a lot of artistic license. :) That almost always makes me very, very happy.
And I am very happy with how this came out...I hope Wendy likes it too! :) Obviously Sonia is © Wendy, no stealie you guys.

*nods* From my further looking into it, the hadrosaurines definitely did have beaks - for browsing/grazing like a tortoise does, rather than dabbling like a duck. That said, lippy works with the singing, if I'm honest - she wouldn't look quite so much like she was singing as much as just gaping beaky jaws if she had a beak.
Pffffff. Like every other 80's kid my first choice of profession was paleontologist. I guided my second-grade class's tour of the Witte when they had animatronic dinosaurs 'cause I knew more about 'em than the teacher and could pronounce their names. Had every last Dino-Rider there was. My bookshelf was filled with dino-books.
Then I found out paleontologists get paid fuck-all for working out in the frigging desert and that ambition kinda petered out. But I'm still a lifelong dino-nut. X3
Know whatcha mean about the background. Even with a good perspective-blur they're tricky as hell.
