I don't watch anime/OVA/etc all that much (besides Ghibli stuff of course!), but one of the first things I really liked was the old Birdy the Mighty OVAs. The 1996 one, not the 2008 "Decode" reboot. I could never really get into the new version for some reason...but I watched the shit outta the 1996 version. Perhaps I'll make more of her!
