The Miss Veedol was the first aircraft to fly nonstop across the Pacific Ocean, at the hands of Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon. The record breaking flight took place on October 5, 1931, with originating point in Misawa, Japan, and landing in East Wenatchee, WA, USA.
This aircraft is a hand-built reproduction, sponsored by the EAA, and flown frequently for events in the northwest. It was present at the fly-in, and I took a number of photos as she took off and made fly-bys.
