Hey, it's time to reflect again :D
2018 in retrospective:
- I finished the payment plan for my phone (Its 100% mine now XD)
- I shortly went out of my debt and went back in soon after, I will work on getting out of that bank debt again the upcoming year, I am sure I can do it somehow.
- I got in contact again with a former friend and are glad to finally have talked with that friend in a calm matter, we are now on our way back to putting past the conflict that ripped us apart.
- After over a year of talking to social services they greenlit my funding for the Games Academy, I only had to apply for it and get accepted… and do a job until I would eventually start so the funding could actually be allowed.
- I had a part-time job I worked at for about two month. It was quiet informative and quiet fun to work there, though I fear I was the worst shop clerk regarding fashion questions ever. XD
- My computer was still dying and often crashed during the first half of the year, I wasn't able to buy a new one, I had only a living minimum of money and about 80-100 euro each month at max to spare. As I was unemployed most time of the year no one wanted to give me a payment plan or credit for one, not even my parents where willing to put their name on a payment plan for me. BUT my only friend that lives in Germany and close to me came to me and told me she and her husband would put their name on the contract papers so I'd be able to replace my old computer. This gesture was very unexpected and I can't thank them enough for this. Thanks to these two I was able to stop worrying about this and actually work again and started to finally create my first 3D models I needed to apply for the Games Academy.
-My application for the Games Academy was a success and I got accepted as Digital Art student!! (The Games Academy is the best way to get into the gaming industry and the only school in Germany that actually teaches their students the necessary skills for everything regarding game development. I am very lucky to have gotten the scholarship over the social services and I am sure it will hep me get a better artist and hopefully also let me make my hobby to my profession.)
- I planned a trip with my soulmate to Germanys biggest theme park, as plans shifted we decided against it and from my savings I was able to buy me a nintendo switch, I wanted this console for some time now and decided going back further into minus on my bank was worth it for now.
- Games Academy started in October I managed to participate on a few dev days and met artists that work for big firms who could give us student some great tips. (Overall bein able to visit the GA is one of the best things that could have happened to me).
-I still have differences with my mum (she is the one having the say in our house, her word is law and welp... if I am not sharing her point of few, I act against her law, ergo = no good vibes at times XP)
Overall 2018 has been way better then the past 2 years, finally I feel like going forward, there are still some very dark places here and there, but in general I feel more confident for the future as of right now.
