This is page one of a sort of mock mini-comic I'm making for a presentation in technical journalism. Yes, technical journalism. Don't ask.
Supercat will be helping me illustrate common comic layouts, how to control flow, direct the readers eyes, and give pages identity. The mini-comic is the result of about 30 seconds worth of story writing with the overall plot of Supercat detecting a damsel in distress stuck in a tall tree in the backyard (thanks to his SUPERFELINE(TM) hearing), trying to rescue her, and getting stuck in the tree himself. Mostly, though, it just makes fun of Marvel comics and various superheros.
Besides the fact this thing is a seriously embarassing idea in the first place, I'll be shoving this in the scraps heap in a few days since this was intended to be displayed through a low-res projector shooting it onto a wall in some classroom; not viewed on a computer. I took a ton of shortcuts and didn't even bother trying to fix my usual wobbly shading (I'm incapable of drawing smooth lines without a lot of effort with my mouse). And... it just generally looks horrid.
The only reason I'm not putting this in the scraps section immediately is just because I feel particularly cruel today and I'd like to subject as many people as possible to seeing a cat in ugly blue tights and a red cape.
I hope I never have to draw something like this again.

LOL!!! well I say bring on the Blue Tights and Red Cape. And if Supercat needs a publisher for his own comic book line let me know. There is something else I would like to ask you about tho. The coloring. It's the simple yet dromatic coloring i've been looking for. I have a comic i'm working on and I have to be honest I hate coloring. It's the hardest part and takes me so long. But to the point, would you be intereted in color comic pages? I have some that need the coloring :)

Hehe! I think I'd suffer mental damage if Supercat hung around too long :). Although I do like the guy. He kind of grew on me by the end of the comic.
Err.. anyhoo... wow... Thank you very much for the compliment. I'm actually trying to learn to colour and have very little experience, but still, I'm very flattered.
Unfortunately, I'm very tight on time these days, so the best I can say is... maybe? Heh, any way I could find out more information on this comic?

I don't see why not,...look up on my page, (if you need a link let me know) in my gallery there is a Cheetah, and a Rottweiler (Chad & Bruce) the comic is about their lives together. One is a happy go lucky cat that is not affraid of being who he is, and the is a dog that is having a hard time showing who he is and living a less then military life style :)
