From the Pokemon Tabletop United game. We underwent a trial held by Darkrai where our characters were put into increasingly devastating situations where we had to overcome impossible odds to find our breaking point. We got out of it alive, but not without some consequences. Part of the quest involved being turned into pokemon, which we got to choose because we all became something that best fit our personalities.
Admittedly, I don't think I shined very much in this arc of the campaign; Gretchen cried, she hid, she seemed to do more harm than good to the situation, and overall it go so intense that I as a player got emotionally overwhelmed (I've since talked it over with the GM, no worries)
But in all of her struggling, Gretchen still managed to form bonds and connections that paid off in their own ways. One particular NPC, a former experiment named Brotgar, had been watching her from a distance after she'd promised to help him with his own complications, and being spliced with a psychic type allowed him, in a way, to visit her in a dream to give some words of encouragement. To help her pull through, he gave her a mirror enchanted to replay the promise she'd made to him to do better.
She... well, like I said, her shining moment didn't really shine per se, but she held it together when it counted, and I think that in itself is worthy of an honorable mention.
