Meh; Tumblr had too many problems, anyway.
Such as myself trying to upload certain silly pics, onto Tumblr.
Although of course, I kept my Tumblr STRICTLY SFW, because I like to think about the wider audience. (That's just me, anyway.)
As for Facebook, I don't use it; too many problems, such as social apps, and pokes.

Tumblr going SFW is a big part of it but the continuation is that they put their NSFW filtering in the hands of an automated system that's flagging tons of SFW stuff and missing a huge portion of NSFW stuff. Staff is also shadow-banning many users, trolls are flagging perfectly innocent posts and the system is taking it down, all while hate groups and overly-aggressive social justice warriors remain active and allowed. It's become a total clusterfuck with the worst parts of Tumblr being exaggerated and the best parts being expunged.
Well i can give a tiny bit of extra background to why it happens now if interested.
Last month an audit revealed the worst kind of porn to be on tumblr: Child pornography. This resulted in Tumblr being removed from many app-stores as nobody wants to be associated to a site that has that kind of content.
In complete and utter panic at the consequences this caused them to publicly condemn anything mature/adult themed and promise to be friendly for all. Desperate to get back into good graces with the app-stores
They rushed a automated filter and as expected from something rushed it is failing at discriminating adult from clean causing little but chaos for every user...

-Filter goes berzerk failing miserably at it's task causing immense trouble for all remaining users.
-Tumblr can only look as it is bleeding to death....
Seriously considering how they made 3 major mistakes in such a short-term out of panic it is a miracle it lasted this long! <.<
