Damien was fooling around and maybe a little foolish to think that Lu would pass up such an opportunity, and his choice of footwear would likely be tempting for Lu in any case so I can imagine he was looking for a chance to tickle him sooner or later. Lu being so adorable and friendly though, I imagine it's just one of those things you learn to accept when you're buddies with him.
