I definitely see a few people who seem to treat fur cons as generic "any fandom you like!" cons and/or "just dress weird" cons XD
Which I don't have a problem with (hey I think it's more fun to dress up as /something/ than nothing at all) but I think it's best if people try to go with the theme. It's not /that hard/ to add ears and a tail to a given character!
... I went to one FC as "Freddy Cougar" cuz I already had most of the freddy costume, I just added cougar ears, tail, and vaguely catlike features on the burninated facepaint XD If I did the Rorschach costume I'd be really tempted to give him a skunk tail, and/or a ginger allycat tail and ear (s?)
... yes I realize his costume is supposed to look as anony as possible so if he really were a furry he'd probably try to obscure any distinguishing features such as species BUT HAY ppl will just have to nerd rage at me and we can get in a nerd fight and it will be great.
... I suppose all the animal-themed superheros could get away without adding anything extra. I need to make D a Monarch costume - good for furry and comic cons! :D

Even though he's probably been exposed to the most horror of any of the "heroes" (outside of the Comedian, perhaps) he still strike me as strangely... innocent. He just refuses to deal with the world by anything other than his own standards.
Quite a quixotic character. <3

*SPOILER ALERT*
That is why I loved him so much and why I was so sad, PISSED and yet kinda at peace with his ending. He is a LOT like me. There's some bad shit in the world and we all experience at least a little of it as we grow, some people far more then others. A lot of people loose their innocence along the way, but not fully, they still remember it, hold onto what little goodness and hope they have inside, and some of them get angry at the world for fucking up such a good thing. He talks about a split personality, which is totally what he has. The innocence within him, the hurt little boy is Walter Kovacs, the unmasked man. The vigilante monster, the protector and upholder of justice, that's Rorschach, the masked Watchmen.
I felt sorry for him because he learned to cope by doing what he could to clean up his little part of the world. He followed a creed, trying to create this idealized "clean" world, although he always knew it was useless, because humans do horrible things, always have, always will and no one man can change that. He had the balls to stick to it 'till the end though. Right is right and wrong is wrong, but the world doesn't very well accept that kinda person and it's hard to be a lone wolf when so many are out to fuck things up, so the ending was almost like a release, because he was living in a veritable hell. =\ Damn I get a little misty-eyed just talking about it.
Rorschach to me, was the most innocent, human member of the entire group, and I think the others recognized that. His character is the glue that holds this entire story together. I think it's amazing how well he was played out. =)
Best character ever.

EXACTLY!
When I first read the comic I HATED IT. Because I disliked all the characters except Rorschach and he pretty much just got effed over. But at the time I was reading it with a typical comic-book straightforward interpretation which would imply that Ozzy was right and I couldn't agree with that at all.
But after a while I realized Moore is a lot more nuanced and I chose to see watchmen / Rorscahch as sort of a Greek Tragedy figure. And then I liked it a lot more. His fate is not tragic because he is wrong or bad, but because someone like him cannot have a happy ending. He's perfectly aware how to live a "normal" life, could have quit crime fighting or chosen to keep Veidt's secret, but he refuses to participate in such a flawed world even if it means his death. And that's why he's one of my favorite characters of all time.
I didn't particularly care for many actors in the movie but Jackie absolutely nailed Rorschach and so I am content. :) (actually i really liked what Ozzy's actor did, too, but Laurie and Dr. Manhattan sucked assssss)
