The yellows are very bright here.......or at least they were until the inch of rain knocked a lot of it to the ground, which is now yellow :P

UV filters do good as a protection of the lens no matter what you shoot, and grad ND filters are especially useful for serious landscape work.. medium and large format photographers use them frequently but I don't bother with them since I use a small frame camera. In future, when I can afford a medium format cam system, I will try them out though ^^
What's the difference between a small frame camera and medium and large format systems?
Sorry I keep asking questions; I just always like to learn more about photography because I'm somewhat of an amateur, but it's something I really enjoy and want to get better at ^^

Well, small format (not small frame, as I wrote - sorry!:P) cameras are DSLR and SLR cameras like Nikon D40, D300, D3, F4, Canon 500d, 50d, 5d or AE-1 - it just means that size of the pictures that comes from them is relatively small. SLRs and DSLRs can divide into full-frame 35mm film picture size or small frame which is even smaller. In example, my Nikon D200 is a small frame cam. Nikon D3 or Canon 5d are full-frame. Medium and large format cameras are completely different thing... everything shot with medium or large format will look better than from a SLR. Besides you have more control over your image. Both of these formats can give extraordinary images that are really big.. you can see the comparision here if you like:
