Eirini is a strange case, especially for my cast of characters, regardless, she still harbors a very vibrant personality, and the ability to form complex social relations.
One of the most immediate traits that most people will realize about her is that of her height, where she towers over even the tallest of normal people, even being twice the height of my largest normal character, Nora. Along with her size, the presence of a beak serves to prevent her from speaking normally, due to a lot of essential sounds for English being derived from the use of lips.
Despite her shortcomings in her speech, she is able to speak rudimentary phrases and words, usually requiring practice prior to adequate pronunciation. Most of her expressions come from her body language, as well as different sounds that she will produce in response to certain situations.
These sounds range from screeching to clicking, with the clicking sound being used to express contentment or satisfaction, and the aforementioned screeching being used to convey fear and aggression. Her size, as well as her vocal cords, amplify the sound of the screeching, with many who hear it describing it as “Closer to a T-Rex than a bird.”.
Not much is known about her origins, but she has taken residence in many different forests throughout her lifetime, becoming an urban legend in many different towns. Her height and general physiology contribute to attitudes towards her influence on others, with almost everyone feeling intimidated or uneasy upon first seeing her.
Surprisingly enough, her threatening appearance juxtaposes her actual personality, with anyone fearless enough to seek her out finding her to be a bit of a ‘teddy bear’, further reinforced by her lack of sinister intentions.
During the earlier years of her life, her behavior was much more animalistic, usually running from people, as well as avoiding urbanized centers. This behavior gradually changed after many years of observation, and accidental encounters with said people, where her interest in them came to fruition.
When she finally gained the bravery to start initiating encounters herself, she began to pick up on mannerisms from other people, further aiding her understanding of their literacy and body language. Through her encounters with others, she slowly gained an understanding of them, beginning to adore, and even respect them. Regardless of this, she kept to the forest, staying away from towns, mainly out of fear for how they would react to her.
Of course, the summer is a whole different situation for Eirini, because this is where she experiences her heat cycle. With the lack of any other males of her species, she’s left to pursue other means of ‘relief’, mainly that of the much smaller people, who would encounter her from time to time.
She does have a concept of what consent is, though it boils down to whether or not the victim is agreeable or terrified, with the latter being the most common response to a 20-foot tall monster trying to seduce you.
When she isn’t on her cycle, she’s usually happy to interact with people, being shy at first, but she gets over that quite easily. Her methods of physical interaction are admittedly uncomfortable to many, as she prefers to hug people as a means of greeting them, with her size usually making these hugs immensely strong, and mildly painful.
