Mephyssia is somewhat of an enigma within any groups that she might find herself in. While her size can draw attention, most of which she is very welcoming of, it severely limits her capability to live in an urban area.

Her life began at an indeterminate time in history, which she has come to regard as “somewhere near the beginning of the middle ages”, in northwest Turkey. Being mostly isolated from humans during her developmental years, she was mostly unaffected by the political climate of any given time period, and she stayed oblivious to larger human societies as a whole for most of her childhood. It was only until she reached her late ‘teens’ that she learned of large, cohesive groups of humans, and this just so happened to coincide with her spike of interest in material wealth.

Mostly due to an inborn, though rough moral compass, she refused to outright steal possessions from humans, rather, she learned to bargain for them. These deals were usually comprised of odd jobs, and even the occasional use of her fire breath. Once she had reached adulthood, some of these deals dipped into less-than-savory exchanges.

Heated politics in the middle east eventually erupted into the crusades, a conflict that she had a very trained eye on. She would use the conflict as a way to bolster her wealth, finding ways to swindle caravans and soldiers out of their trinkets, whether personally owned, or looted. To this day, she still considers all of the crusades to be the main reason as to why she owns as many valuable items as she does.

By the time that the conflicts had died down, she was considerably wealthy, to the point that a majority of her home was consumed by large, glittering piles. Though she enjoyed the hoard, she did find it upsetting that it stood in the way of having a comfortable home. This discomfort would soon prompt her to seek a new abode, that of which would become a sizeable cave system in the southern regions of The Netherlands. This cave would soon become heavily furnished, and modernized, sporting electric appliances, plumbing, and extravagantly expensive building materials.

She has become somewhat of an urban legend, even after being confirmed to exist, people still seem to doubt the claims, usually having to investigate on their own. Mephyssia is more than happy to give away small portions of her treasure, but she always insists that the person does something in exchange, these tasks can vary from entertaining her, to bringing her junk food, and even explicit actions
