I still want to design somekind of ungulate species (for elf world) at some point
hopefully they wont be basically Satyr or Draenei
both are cool but I wanna do my own thing
Well, I have a lot of ideas (so I should just get to it):
symmetric hand with 2 opposable digits
vegetarian but may eat predators/enemies for rituals
Somewhat ritualistic and "primitive".
brawling is a national sport
flock animal
horns denoting seniority
ancestors: sequential hermaphrodites, but these aren't so much.
Hair mostly on head, chest, shoulders, back.
Short to no tail.
More animal-ish faces than I normally do, but still to the human end.
Dark-skinned.
Conflict of ideas for themes:
"deer": lithe, tall
"mountain goat": smallish, sturdy. (I am attracted to this for living in caves)
"bull-ish": big, stout.

What an awesome idea!
Thank you
I have not yet researched ANYTHING at all so I will get to that
also Gazelle, sprinters!
but not sure I want those
Ideally I should sketch up a number of different ones, might be fun
feel free to post some ungulates and "concepts" of their lifestyle.

Danke :D
Llama nomadic people would surely give you a distinct flavor separate from satyrs.
Giraffe or okapi would be kinda funky and neat.
Boar forest people. Maybe ritually blinded warriors/trackers that use their keen sense of smell?
Or cute little Peccary people with chubby hips. X3
check out this guy:

sabertoothed deer! :D That's awesome.
Big and burly bison, or yaks.
A tapir would be neat, their hooves are very hand-like:

Um also, zebra and rhino would be very distinct. :O

I've got several variants of my satyrs, just because I like drawing the different horns. Sylvans are your basic goat satyr, alpines are big and wooly and live in the northern mountains, swampies are smaller, curly haired and curly horned and live in marshland and bayous, sand-striders are tall, graceful, very dark skinned with short, sleek gold fur, troglodytes are covered in black fur with very pale eyes, island dwarves are small and pixie-like but kind of dumb and very annoying, and then there are two apparently extinct species, one athleticly built with bighorn sheep style horns and one that used to live on the west coast . . . and I could go on and on.
Ditto on the sabertoothed deer Trynity mentioned, I'd love to see someone pull that off well and surely you could.
