Zelda, probably wandering around in places she shouldn't, has wound up in a pair of stocks and at the mercy of some old witch. The witch needs her sweat, saliva and tears to make some kind of bizarre and disgusting potion of youth, but she needs a lot of it. Perhaps someone will save her, but it's unlikely in this day and age.
