“Thistle Down!” The tone of the mare's voice snapped the filly out of her thoughts.
“Y-yes, Miss Rose?”
“The Rockrill stream flows which direction through the Everfree forest?”
Thistle began to blush, she hadn't been paying attention, and now was about to be called out for it.
“Uh, it flows...” She looked down. The blue colt in front of her twitched his tail up. “Uh, it flows north?”
“The choices were east and west. Look at the map! North is up, south is down, the stream flows right to left! Now, which direction does it flow?”
Thistle felt her face burning. “It flows east ma'am.” She could hear a few chuckles coming from some of the other ponies in the classroom.
“This is a serious matter class! Everfree is a hazardous place, if you get in there you need to get out!”
Thistle thought hard. “When I left the stream, it was flowing from my right to my left. So it if flows east, then I went south. I need to go West to head home. The sun rises in the east. The stream should be north. So I should be heading this way!” She began to trot off. Her tummy let out a low growl. “Oh! Well, at least there's plenty of these flowers and berries to eat here too!”
While she ate, she felt something thump on to her tail. She turned to see what it was. Staring back at her she saw three of the largest spiders she had ever seen in her life! Two were on her flanks, and the largest hugging her tail! She screamed and began to frantically shake her tail, but the huge spider gripped all the harder. She began to buck, but the spider dug in. The two smaller spiders bit hard, but quickly flew off as she bolted. Finally the last spider sank its fangs into her tail. She heard the hissing of air. The spider began to grow larger and larger as it filled itself with air from Thistle's tail!
This is for somepony that appreciates big squeeky spiders! =^^=
Poor Thistle has more patching to do, good thing she's pretty much immune to spider venom!
Fun fact: IRL the huntsman spider can jump great distances. It's natural defense mechanism is to cling. Only when it gets really aggravated will it bite. We don't see a self-escalating situation here? =^^=

I should have drawn a picture of the initial bear attack. Then you could see that there were no valves on it. heh, depending on how long this story drags out, there could be a considerable number of pooltoy critters left in Thistle's wake!
... Either that, or she's gonna be a real hit at the next pool party at home!
Now there's a question, do they have pools? Or ponds? Would that make these pondtoys instead?

I know where i should go, and it seems the poison joke olny makes my things go awry and my fur as fluffy as a drycleaner, and also makes me meet the nearest tree headfirst, and then make my best dress torn up so I run out of patches, then i fall into some water with the worst splach ever and it happens all over as i panic out of the water...

HA welp that was really nice try from your side and i must say i do like me some cute spiders balloons or toys .
but i'm gonna saddly need tell you that you need work on your spider desing little more as the colors really feel odd on it and and the way the head is deform from the push adding kinda less cute touch to it usless you go for it . oh and kinda big thing spider don't have 3 parts body , like you can make it 3 parts body if you like that idea but it's hard to sell it then . you see spiders are mostly having there legs sticking out from there head/ under head .

This was one of my last efforts with Corel Draw, before I got a new tablet and Clip studio. Still trying to settle down my style and draw the same character the same way twice in a row... =^^;

sorry , but this how i feel , still nice that you try it , just you know you need keep on going and keep on drawing that the only way to get better .
Great to heard you get yourself some good program and tablet now you better draw more then. oh and don't worry about drawing the character looking the same or to keep some wierd style . like there is no way to found a style , is just something that will come natural over time is like if you will draw for 6 years you start see that you pref something more then other and that what will creat your style for now you are way to unexpirence .... even i'm ha !
