A quieter moment in the Sultan of Andur palace. Oh there maybe fireworks later but they won't be like the ones from the next room http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2941475 .
The marriage between Evenara and Abdul has had a certain fairy tale quality to it. Abdul the son of a herder who travels to the big city to find his destiny. Overcomes adversity, faces mortal perils and in the end wins himself not only a title but the heart of the woman he loves. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1129218/
Evenara is a princess from the Tsarist courts of Russia. About as far away from the sands and dunes of Abdul's world. Kidnapped while on trip to visit Dawn Fairmane's family in their homeland of Scotland http://www.furaffinity.net/view/833513/ . Whisked away in the dead of the night she was sold to slavers. The cause of all this was one of Vipera Vixen's http://www.furaffinity.net/view/983413/ rather elaborate schemes in the 14th century to gain control of the Russian Princess.
The plan was that Evenara would end up in the slave markets of Andur and Vipera would buy her. Upon discovering the origins and history of her new acquisition she'd get in touch with Evenara's family and for a "fee", meaning ransom, she'd make arrangements for her release and return home.
Unfortunately for Vipera she got her dates mixed up and was not in the marketplace when Evenara went on sale. Fortunately for Evenara I happened to be passing by and saw this beautiful, and exotic for Andur, but very forlorn Russian Husky standing there. I had no need for a slave and no desire for one, but I was flush with gold from recently finishing a mural for the Sultan so out of sympathy I bought her. This did not go over well with Rosemary who had recently shown up in Andur herself http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1383995/ After explain my logic she calmed down and we freed Evenara from any contractual obligations.
Of course the kidnapping of Evenara had devastated the Fairmane house! Dawn's father died soon after from what was described as "A broken spirit". With all of the other male members of the Fairmane household away on business it fell to Dawn to try and bring Evenara back and redeem the family name. Without asking permission she slipped away and hired a band of mercenaries to hunt down Evenara's captors. As they traveled across medieval Europe looking for her Dawn eventually just became one of the mercenaries herself.
the real turning came when in a skirmish the leader of the mercenaries was killed in action. Without thinking Dawn rallied the troops on her side and turned the battle into a victory. After that she no longer the employer of the mercenaries but their leader. They continued their journey across Europe and the Med. Looking for work and always trying to find out where the Russian Princess had gone. Eventually Dawn got word that she was in Andur.
Much to Dawn's surprise when she showed up in Andur she found Evenara was not a slave or prisoner, but instead was a honored guest in the palace. Further she'd fallen in love with Abdul and was in no hurry to go home at all! Since Dawn had sworn upon her family's name that she'd stay by Evenara and make certain she was safe she decided she'd settle down in the city herself until at such point the Princess decided to go home. Well that never happened and now Dawn is the general of the Andurian Army.
Now many paragraphs later we get to the meaning of this sketch. A while back Rosemary gave Evenara one of those extra baggy, but very comfortable nightshirts from the modern world. Due to her husbands size they've discovered it's big enough for the two of them.

Almost as bad as some ‘big tops’ I’d suggested for chakats with chakittens.
It looks like an oversized top that holds the kitten under hir mother’s breasts and leaves mom’s hands free to do other things. (kitten can get to hir lunch without mom’s help.)
The added joke was wearing one to a pie fight and having it ‘filled’ with pie, leaving the wearer very ‘top heavy’.

Old Shin'a'in proverb: "If the enemy is in range, so are you.".
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing. -- Redd Foxx
What orators lack in depth they make up in length.

Wow, that's an epic tale! It could easily fill an entire novel, spanning several years in-story. Your world has a very rich history, and it's always a pleasure to hear more about it.
As for the picture, I love the love-struck expressions on their faces. There is nowhere else they'd rather be.
