Not bad at all :) You can tell what it is which is always a good place to start and I must say its a fine pony :P

all I can say is keep going at it practice practice practice, references are your friends, I would alsosuggest finding some tutorials or similar on face proportions they are one of the best things next to hand and footsie refs xD

And digital is always a bitch when you start with it so yeah just keep at it :)

i think i need to make a habit of having a reference pic in the other window, thing is i was like "ill just look through my pictures til i find just a straight up portrait". turns out i dont have any :/
im actually finding digital drawing alot easier than traditional, when i sketch i have fucktons of lines _everywhere_ which i then go over 7823279380 times with a pencil until i get to a point that ive laid down so much i cant possibly erase anything. best thing about photoshop is hiding the sketch layer :P

I have to admit though even though I really should use refs I almost never do xD which is a shame cause they help a lot.

I know what you mean about sketching digitally, I loves it, I can't ink digitally to save myself though. And layers oh layers the blessing and bane of my exsistance xD I always forget which layer I'm working on and usually by the time I see I have drawn half the pic on the background its well too late.
