I decided to give an old LARP character of mine (I first played her 8 years ago! Holy shit.) a reboot for a convention that I attended recently to promote the LARP I am helping to run.
While I loved the HELL out of it, regrettably the prosthetic I am wearing (from NorthFur, http://www.northfur.ca/) gave me a bit of a reaction. Wherever it was glued on, my face was all red and sore the next day and ended up peeling like a mild sunburn. Ouch! I am hoping that using medical adhesive in future will prevent that, as ProsAide has latex in it. I hope a PAX-like paint can be mixed up using medical adhesive as well--I'd rather not use grease on such an expensive appliance, and water based is pretty useless for me when touching up is so complex. Blah.
RANDOM BLATHERING ABOUT THE CHARACTER:
Jazz was originally meant to be a grey tabby cat--explanation being an idea of mine that when Savar (a catfolk race at the game where she was originally played) interbreed too freely between the types, you get mongrels that appear like housecats. They're considered the bottom rung of Savar society. Jazz's genealogy apparently included quite a bit of that, at least on her father's side. Her mother, however, was a fairly upper class purebred tiger.
Since Jazz is, IG, all grown up now I decided to have her shed out her juvenile coat and come into her adult pattern. Apparently she lucked out in the genetic crapshoot and was, in reality, a Maltese tiger. It suits her much more cynical and mature outlook on life these days.
