Wow actual humans?? Painting techniques? TEXTURE?

This is a Venture Bros commission I did for a friend. I've been trying to take in more tutorials and stuff lately so I told her I wanted to try giving it a more painted look and she was all for it! So, context: the season 1 episode "Past Tense" opens with the gang on their way to a funeral and talking about how they got sidetracked along the way because they had to save the ant kingdom. Their reward for doing so was a "treasure" of an old, sucked-on Jolly Rancher. The ant queen also gives them the key to the secret underground city, which I'm assuming Dr. Venture didn't notice because he was too busy being disappointed by the Jolly Rancher. He also asks for his pants in the opening scene so I'm assuming he didn't have them while they were on their adventure. Oh yeah and Brock "made special time" with the ant queen.
