to fit in and being alone.

I have a gut feeling that Asriel and Kris is going to be a main thing in this game.
I can just feel this game is about brotherhood, acceptance of differences. Tolerance. I mean two core things is that Kris is different; he has this strong bond with Asriel. Plus in the original Undertale, when it came to, it was about the REUNION between you both.
In this game, Kris is showing a darkside. He IS the different one here in a world of monsters. In the previous game, it was about the MONSTERS being different. Asriel was also Flowey and he was the one showing the darkside.
I think in Deltarune, it being the symbol of the royal FAMILY. It is going to be about Asriel saving you. I think Toby is trying to show, if the shoe was on the other foot. The monsters were hurting in the previous game. Now it is the one human, mysteriously alone. I think this game is going to be about brotherhood and the reconcilation of differences; that whats happened in the game so far, is having a secret message behind it.
All stories are meant to teach something. They're supposed to show the depth of growth in the characters, which is why we play the games. We play to see the story play out; though the moral of the story is subliminal, you will see the story play out, the drama and that's why we're gamers.
Just like Undertale, it's about you and Asriel, at it's core. The reconcilation of worlds, the coming together of pieces. The broken halves of a whole, coming together. I always thought anyway, Undertale was really about tolerance at it's core. They're monsters, but shown in the right light, we learnt to love them.
And I have a wonder if Ralsei is the grandfather of Asriel; you have gone back in time when you enter the dark world. That which is happening is showing when the monsters trapped but way before, because I think to myself if the game is called Deltarune which is the symbol of the royal family; perhaps why Monsters are nice at their cores and full of love, it might've been because of their association with the human.
Just remember, that Undertale at it's core, was about tolerance. Now it's Kris who is different; he has a incredibly strong bond with Asriel, the main antagonist you reconciled with at the end of Undertale.
Sorry if this was over the top for a comment. ^^ I'm very heartfelt. Hehe. x3
