Introducing: Gordon (Art by Komari Azuul)
Gordon Calaway, age mid-40's; a former crime lord who, through various betrayals and events, became a victim of his own designer drugs and spiraled into self-destructive abuse that resulted in the loss of his own legs - and his genitals.
Despite his history, Gordon was accepted and advanced into the ranks of the DEP as a prison warden. His motivations for joining the DEP are unclear, but there are rumors that his inclusion and high status were brought on at the urging of a special operative with similar connections.
His intentions seem to be sincere, but it remains highly questionable that his actions aren't simply for the sake of pursuing and punishing his former partners in crime. Worse, Gordon is nothing if not a little free spirited and frisky with some of the inmates under his watch. Most notable is his use of exotic prosthetics, -- [REDACTED]
I'm not too happy with this one, but I admit I kind of rushed it an' I just wanted to sort of get this out of the way; otherwise I would've likely focused a bit more on some of the shadows (or lack thereof) an' maybe went for implied lines. Most of this is just plain ol' outlined. Nothin' special.
I think I fucked up the positioning of his shoulders relative to his arms several times. I flip-flopped between having one hand in his pocket - and which one - and just ended up performing the ultimate technique: putting his hands in his pockets so I don't have to draw them! Yaaaay! I'm the best.
I'm pleased that I figured out how to texture his pants without really looking it up; I was just like, "Oh! Wait, I can make like... a new layer and just slap a giant square texture on it and erase the parts that aren't his pants!" Not bad. Kudos, me. Well done, self.
I'm pretty happy with his prosthetics. They were originally kind of based on Genium model legs but I amped up the calves and made his knees a bit more... needlessly blatant. :p I also had a hard time figuring out like... if I wanted to 'furry' up the legs; like have his legs be kind of digigrade or something, or have paw-shaped shoes. Every furry in the DEP setting has plain legs and wears shoes though, so this is completely in line with the rest of that world's aesthetic.
The head was mostly just shaped on observing dogs and comparing the way some artists draw anthro Great Danes; Narse comes to mind.
I think if I end up drawing him again I'd like him to be a bit more muscular and defined; I was mostly just basing his clothes off of several suit-and-waistcoat examples that started out being white-shirt and buttoned-up on the vest, but then I went with unbuttoned and went with more... colorful clothing; if it remained white I would've got like, a Han Solo impression or something. Not my intention. :p
He should probably look a little older somehow, too. Hrm.
Aaaand of course if y'all know who this is just by way of me yammering on about it, you'll know that you'll definitely see this guy again once or twice to show off his particular 'talents.' Yeehaw.
