In solitude, to bide its days
A filthy beast, a reprobate
Consumes and rends and fornicates
I bade you to ignore it
I begged you leave it be
You said you would but then
Succumbed to curiosity
You whispered words
Mocked, taunted, and teased
“Were you just to free yourself,
I’d let you do as you pleased.”
You shook its chains, you pulled its leash
Fed him scraps but kept the feast
You stoked its lust and made it rage
Trusting I’d secure it in its cage
But the bars were so old
And the locks in disrepair
I am ashamed to tell you
I could not keep it there
So now it howls within me
And I fear it is too late...
...so must I now tear down your walls,
