I am condemned,
For justly serving god,
As you decree I do.
I am condemned,
For vanquishing all those,
Who would have conquered you.
But as I return from my bloody campaign
You make treason my deadly reward
You cowards dare to treat me with disdain
For the way those men died by my sword.
I am condemned.

This is both part of my Deci-ember challenge and a little bit of delving into the backstory of my antagonist character, Taranis Baladan. Taranis was born into two lineages: The eldest son of the Tiger Pride of Baladan on his father's side, and the grandson of the grand master of the Orionites on his mother's side.
This duality tormented the young tiger for most of his early years, especially since he was his father's only child born from the union with his mother. His father divorced his mother upon finding out who she was, and married another to produced heirs not tainted with 'witch's blood'.
Taranis spent his coming of age years, defending his father's territories, trying to prove himself worthy of his position as rightful heir. He defended his father's lands with ferocity, and offered no mercy to his enemies.
This ferocity worried many elders within the Baladan household, including his father. Reports also came back that the red furred tiger had been making rendezvous in secret with his exiled mother, leaving many suspicious minds to believe he was using witchcraft to win his battles.
Suspicion and superstition, led to Taranis's rightful birthright to be taken away, and given to his younger brother.
The wary lords of Baladan even sent assassins to dispatch Taranis's mother, but they fell to the red warrior's blade.
Feeling betrayed, Taranis rejected his father's line, and embraced the lineage of his mother, condemning himself even further.
