After the revelation of the Human Genome Project in the early nineties, a gifted Geneticist named Patrick Jensen toyed about the idea of incorporating animal DNA with humans, with the intent of using genetic strands from mammals to find ways of curing various diseases. What he discovered though was how malleable human DNA was, and created a virus codenamed 'Animalia' that had the potential of altering a persons biology. Upon realising the danger of how it could be misused however, he kept it secret from the world. A military organisation however, intent of developing the virus further to allow human transmogrification attempts to use it for themselves to gain global power.
After an attempted assassination on the life of his family and himself, they travel to America to stop a psychologically unstable Colonel with a level of Patriotism that borders on insanity, who is intent on molding the world to his liking using the virus. Along the way however, Patricks son Scott comes under target from Colonel Corrigan and is infected with the 'Animalia' virus, forcing him to use his newly heightened senses and abilities to defend himself and his parents. His new found capabilities however push his body to extremes causing extraordinarily dangerous side-effects, which he battles to survive as well as the attacks from Colonel Corrigan.
The events that take place force and metamorphose Scott from a naive young adult with a cocky sense of humor having rarely ever fired a gun, to a lethal beast (both figuratively and physically) who has to suppress his human instincts about morality in order to survive as he endeavors to take down Colonel Corrigan who is relentless in his attempt to dominate the world.

I'll admit - it was my first commission, but I am definitely in awe of those who can draw like this.
Here's my first book... and possibly my last. I first came up with the idea over 10 years ago, and let it waste away in the recesses of my mind. Finally tried to make it into something decent - so let me know what you think. Sample pages are attached.
I'm always happy for constructive feedback.

An Add on to my previous reply post: On this site there is an interactive story chain in where a virus from a lab gets loos and changes animals and humans into anthro's eventually they are able to controls the virus and find that if a terminally ill person or one that is disabled can be cured by this virus by having themselves changed into an anthro form of their choosing and these people are called "Animalians" and they have built and created their own society.
here is a link to a chain of the story. yo will need to sign up for the site but it is free.

Bloody hell... I'll admit after a quick perusal, there's a little bit of crossover between my idea and theirs, but I think for me - I focused a little more on the psychological effects instead of physical.
I'll see if I can get round to looking at it in more detail another time. I never chose the term Animalia from that, I actually remember a childrens book being titled animalia - plus it sounded latin, so I liked using that term.

I included chapter 8 in the sample because it's a bit more visceral. It might give away a little bit of the middle, but hopefully only enough that will make people want to read the previous chapters to find out how it happened.
Glad you like the writing format. I'll admit - for a first book, I spend hundreds of hours revising my commas, flow, paragraphs etc... it was tedious work, but hope it was worth it.

I'm currently helping a friend of mine to write a fantasy book. I'm a contributing author and editor. I'm super impressed how well you've made it on your own.
I've found it extremely difficult to take a step back and look at my own stories and what I should do to improve them. I can say with confidence that you've done an amazing job with spelling. I didn't find a single spelling mistake.

That was LITERALLY hundreds of hours scanning, reading, re-typing and re-reading....
...followed by more re-reading.
I've spent a lot of time procrastinating on actually finishing this, so I made it my 2018 goal to do so. Figured it had to be really polished before I submit it anywhere.
