Black Emo Spidey along with Chun-Li, posing just outside the entrance.
Tiggy hanging up his fursuit in exchange for a spandex-clad superhero costume for the local Sci-Fi/Anime/Comic Con/Expo called Armageddon (http://www.armageddonexpo.com/nz) at Auckland, New Zealand.
Unfortunately our group got saperated out so didn't get many photos of me walking around the convention/expo floor. Well, I'm sure there'll be photos floating around the internet soon.
It was actually quite refreshing to cosplay/dress up in something rather than a fursuit for a change, and I must say the atmosphere is quite different to a furry convention, and kids running around you going "oh look its Spiderman!", and asking for my autograph (which I must admit, took me back and I froze when the first kid asked me that... how was I suppose to react/respond to that? In the end I just scribbled "Spiderman" on the piece of paper/book that was shoves in my hands).
I need to brush up on my Spiderman/Marvel comic knowledge though before I take Spidey out again next time round so I can be more animated and lively in character/suit.
Till next time... just your neighbourhood friendly Spiderman wizzing past...

From the internets my friend! ;)
In all seriousness, I originally got the suit off a seller on eBay who did commission work for Spidey suits, and that would have been well over 2 years ago. However it was incomplete as the suit lacks the front 3D spider (it's a long story in itself, and I ended up waiting 3-4 months with endless e-mails and a PayPal dispute) and only finally completed it this week after ordering the front 3D Spider from a guy in Australia who also did commission work.
So, now that I finally have a completed Spidey suit, I thought "why not try it out at the local Sci-Fi/Anime/Comin Con/Expo this weekend", and well, I did.

The answer would be no. I forgot exactly who I originally commissioned the bodysuit from now, although ever since the suit patterns have been "leaked out" as long as you have access to a big dye-sublimation fabric printer it's not hard to construct your own.
Last time I checked a well-made one still goes for upto US$1000.00. Although I've seen places/people who offer to do them for less.

Well, the Tiggy was quite nervous going out in just a skin-tight spandex suit too, and worrying "oh what if the suit doesn't look as good" or "what if my butt or tummy shows up too much and get... laughed at by the kids".
It's safe to say that Tiggy pulled it off, somehow, and everyone there loved the Black Emo Spidey. ;)

I wish I made it from scratch myself too! Well, read my comment above (in short, I did some work on the suit but it was mostly commissioned from someone else).
If I have access to a dye-sublimation fabric printer then I could try making one from scratch (the red/blue classic coloured Spidey).
