It doesn't seem obscure to me, I really enjoy that show, I know it's not canon and that even DK Vine doesn't want some of that in games, but I think it brings a lot to the DK universe, they have a deity, elections, holidays , rituals, even a factory with labor problems that many employees are very familiar with. Another kong of money in the game would be Swanky but he is dedicated to entertainment.

The adult kong of that family are Chunky and Dixie (in this fan fic I handle Dix as a short adult, as well as Diddy, Conker, Tiptup, etc) Tiny has just entered adulthood and is still studying. Chunky being a docile soul, Dixie often takes the dominant role.
I know it sounds weird but I like to do this kind of thing.
