Fred practices German fencing, as originally taught in the fighting manuals of Johannes Lichtenauer. His fighting style uses the longsword, as well as daggers, bucklers, messers, and grappling. His famiy's coat of arms features a raptor with the words "Mit Leibe Und Seele" or "With Heart and Soul" a reminder to him that in any of his undertakings, he must give it his all.
