That frame with her hand on the ground speaks volumes to what has really changed.

When splitting up a class for an art project.
Tell half of them they have a week to make as many vases as possible.
Tell the other half to make one perfect vase.

By the end of a week the group told to make vases as quickly as possible will end up making vases far nicer than the team who has been spending all week making just one.

It may not look it now to you, but your improving in ways that will come together in time.

The 2 most useful things I learned in drawing class was

1. Don't be afraid if it starts to look worse as you go, in fact never be afraid to possibly ruin everything if it might make it better than it was.

2. Never be so invested in a piece your afraid to make a correction to save what you have already accomplished.

Every piece we make is just a snap shot into the present, there will always be another master piece to make later. So don't fret missing your intent if it meant you gained insight from the process. Something it shows and sounds like you are doing (-:
