When you buy the game, you welcome Todd into your life, you embrace him into your heart, he takes residence in your head, his kitchen is your stomach and his balcony are your eyes, there is no path forward but through Todd, and all things but him are to move backwards, down a hill, into a place undesirable and wrong, a dark and miserable hell where Radiant AI can never reach
Death finally comes for you. As you descend, as life seeps from your body, your eyes close. You hear the sounds fade out around you and then as your heartbeat fades out, you hear creaking wood, the hooves of a horse. You open your eyes, looking at the grizzled, oddly-formed creatures around you. One speaks. "Hey, you. You're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there."
You live out your life in Northlands, fulfilling an ancient prophecy. Become a hero of legend. You live out the rest of your life adventuring, becoming a landed noble, then in your twilight years, you retire to your manor in a leisurely retirement surrounded by family and friends. Then when the end comes, you take one last look at those you love and reflect on a life well lived with no regrets. You close your eyes and your senses fade. Suddenly, your ears are filled with a dull roar and you realize you're laying on a hard, uncomfortable surface that you can feel swaying and shifting. You hear a voice. "Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you okay? Wake up." You climb to your feet, struggling to keep your balance. ""Stand up... there you go. You were dreaming. What's your name?" You mutter a few unfamiliar syllables, still groggy. "Well, not even last night's storm could wake you. I heard them say we've reached Morrowind, I'm sure they'll let us go."
