Now here is a character I have planned for Airpatrol for a very long time, but which I never had an opportunity to use her somewhere in the comic.
Oberstleutnant Diana von Richthofen is the grand, grand, grand, grand-niece of the Red Baron. She is the ace pilot of the european space force.
I was listening to the theme from Top Gun ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCTJmXrgsFg&feature=related ) while drawing this, I think that music fits ver well on the atmosphere of the picture. Diana is actually based on an space carrier, but I thought a millitary airfield in the desert at sunset looks cooler than the dark, clammy flight deck of a space ship.
