I was watching a documentary about 4 days ago; "Anne Frank's Holocaust" and I started thinking of what the Plentycaels would go through before their emancipation. How would humanity overthrow the crippling planetary plutocracy? This vignette came from that question.

When I read that, I realized the title has a double meaning. Not only the plentycaels feel that, but also humanity is chained as well. Slavery is one of the most horrendious and sicking things humans can do. To enslave another is to destroy society's soul and it 'chains' you to the act for to do one, means you can do another...and another...

I am sorry, Kantuck but this story zeroed me in to Rush's Red Sector A. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoXFVb1VVJA
now you will have to write them surviving. just barely.

Thank you. I added the one video (above) to emphasize the full strength of the story. But your right on the nose; Rush's song is /perfect/ for it.
I may make a prelude. I can see how this camp started, and what was going on. From the POV of one of the Plentys. I didn't use it but I've heard some stores of what happened in these camps, but I haven't confirmed it.

There are so many you can use to base a story on. Auschwitz, Dachau, Bergen-Belsen, Treblinka. Camps we don't even remember where souls were herded(!) like cattle, (were there plentycael cattle??) and worked or slaughtered.
Buy a copy of Maus and read it so your story does not copy theirs...

A good point, and yes. There is SO many stories I could pull out of just this topic. It's amazing really.
YOu know, when you asked about the Plentycael cattle, I had to dig through my notes (thank GOD for sqlite database tech) but yes there was. All though the entire Terra storyline, there is talk of the 'missing Plentys' the 3 species of Plentys that didn't survive, or for some reason the uplift didn't work out. Cattle is in that category.
I just looked up Maus, and I'm intrigued by it. It also mentions 2 other books as well 'Night' and 'Survival in Auschwitz' - http://faculty.georgetown.edu/bassr.....r/MausbyAO.htm

I will be working hard on Andromeda, and also trying to finish up about a dozen near-completed ones too. Those mostly came from the 1st half of 18 when I started taking off then...well.
Oh! The other 2 is the Feline (one of the first, I never really got around to develop.) They was the standard house cat, and only 'Claude' (from the Majik Doll) was the only one that came about, but it was due to one scientist, after uplift was stopped and who was working on uplift for himself after his wife died during the comet strikes. He lives on, with his children of the Omecs. They will have an official tribal name, something that reflects their leunistic coats. Something 'ghost cats'
The other was the Capricorns -- IE: goats. I can't recall why they didn't work out, but I seemed to remember they went exinct in both Terra Beyond (the timeline where Dawnde/H8) and Terra - Appalachia (Bala) Yeah, I'm still trying to get all these timelines with better titles. A lot of my notes still need to be scanned, and catalog. I had no idea when I started the Terra storyworld, it'd go absolutely nuts like it has :).
I'm currently working on an EMACS/Org-mode system that will allow me to storyworld, and character build. Biggest problem is; I have so much data to add so it's going to take awhile but it seems to work.

Thank you! That's excellent critique and it shows where I'm doing things right. I strongly suspected I was on the right track with this story.
I must be doing something right. More and more of my works are gaining notoriety, and people want more. I'm quite happy with that, as I thought for awhile I was just spinning my wheels.
