There, hefty gator needs a name, but at least I've nailed down his design...though I'm not sure what kind of markings those are...maybe they're magical?

Maybe the markings have some sort of voodoo significance? Since gators are native only to the southern US; Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, etc. Everywhere else is crocs.
For the same reasons, maybe a Cajun sounding name? Like Boudreaux, Armand, Gui, or Thibaut.
