As Pekk's hat comes toppling off, it reveals that not only his height has increased, but his horn has grown as well. Ekay responds by being both surprised and alarmed after witnessing his brother's sudden transformation. Fearing what else may befall them if they stay longer, Ekay apologizes to the sergals for not being able to fulfill his promise to furnish them with upgraded weapons. Instead, they will be departing soon for the village where he hopes to find their father.
