I wrote this for my mate
Aimi today on my break at work. The entire thing is a metaphor, comparing my desire for her to a drug addiction. The idea came from a discussion in my philosophy of religion class today.
When you are with somebody you care for, your body releases endorphins. Drugs also release endorphins, albeit in larger quantities. When addicted to drugs, your body craves the release of endorphins that it's not receiving due to not having the drugs. In the same way, when you are not with somebody you love, your body can have withdrawals from those endorphins.
I hope you enjoy this piece.
