I spent much of the previous two or three months working on raw sketches, and only finished scanning and digitally retouching them recently. I had no idea that it would turn out to be so time-consuming a task, nor was I in a hurry to begin anything new. However, I girded my loin yesterday, and began a new drawing. This time, however, I didn't let a backlog develop. Scanning it tonight, I was able to post the new art immediately ... hopefully a habit I won't fall out of again.

New new start is indeed a new start. I felt a greater surety while drawing again, that had been lacking in the previous months while I struggled to regain my touch after the stroke. I didn't notice how much difficult I had been having in the previous months, controlling my line and perceiving shapes well enough to be satisfied. It feels like a whole new ball game!

Now to actually *keep* drawing.
