Holy god, I love this track. There are like, 50 new things I tried and accomplished with this. New guitar amp emulation software, new drum samples, new mixing techniques, new ways to stack guitar lines.
Oh, and a freaking guitar solo that doesn't suck balls.
If you don't know, that's a big freaking deal for me ;D

The guitar was lined in directly to the computer via a Presonus Firestudio Project interface. In the host program (i use FL Studio 9) I ran the signal through Guitar Rig 4, which is an amp emulator VST. The background guitar parts were each recorded twice. Lined up so they both played at once, and panned left and right respectively. The bass was done similarly, but I did my best to make it not prominent, because it's terrible and ruins lives.
The drums were done using a program called Superior Drummer. It's a drum machine with excellent sample sets. I wrote each pattern of the drums individually in a midi piano roll.
The guitar solo parts were done the same as the background guitar except with a different amp setting and only one track instead of two.
After all that I rendered out each mixer track so all parts were condensed into a single audio file per instrument. Then proceeded to mix them down to the thing you hear now.
