$5 Pokemon trainer YCH of Rika!
As mentioned in the Cyrrix version I think I actually went with Mystic in Pokemon Go.
In addition to blue, I also played yellow version back in the day. Starting with Pikachu was a stark contrast to starting with bulbasaur... sure he was amazing against all the early game bird pokemon (and was it seems generally powered up for a pikachu) he was incredibly worthless against the rock gym which became a real struggle of trying to do annoying strategies like slowly tick them down with poison damage x.x
