they are sort of (mostly) organic android thing made for harvesting dna samples/hosting different types of eggs and larvae of particularly large/acidic/highly dangerous species for up-close research

it's body is silky soft always warm (adjusting for temperature optimal for incubation)
also they missing voice module so only noise they can make is tiny chirps and cooing
