For nearly 20 years Dawn has had a long and memorable run on the force, joining the force at the age of 18 she hoped to
make a difference in the lives of many. After being assigned to a precinct she quickly learned that wouldn't be the case, seeing how the police culture during the 90s was nothing but a loose cannon against minorities in impoverished areas of L.A, Compton being one of them. The year she joined the LAPD was almost bad timing due of the aftermath of the Rodney King incident and the LA riots, so she knew she had to be VERY CAREFUL of her surroundings. Not just on the streets but also within the police force itself, because she learned quick that cops are no better than street gangs. Essentially cops do the same dirty work that gangs do, collect money, collect drugs and keep people in line. And if you step on the wrong shoes you would get handled, only difference is cops are most likely gonna get away with it. It took her awhile to learn the ropes but eventually she would learn enough about how the system worked that she became a well respected officer. Despite her sexual habits http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16686793/ the only difference with her and other female officers is she didnt sleep with her superiors to get a promotion or a raise. Which you can easily say nobody on the force will mess with her because she had dirt on almost everyone that works with her. Dawn is what many would call the Rebel, she wont play by the game, she wont ever play that political bullshit. Take the case of the CRASH unit in the mid 90s, she was one who spent over a year collecting names and evidence of those who wrongfully jailed many of crimes they never committed. Long story short many people either resigned or lost their jobs.
Fast forward today, roughly two years after the battle of Colmaton she spend a year doing her own investigation of several precincts across the city. With Gina's help she ended up leaking out the names of police officers involved with the CGM in their attempts foiled attempts to conquer the city. With all the evidence they had to prove their case, they handed the evidence to the FBI and eventually the BOS. However somehow and someway somebody in the force found out she was behind the leak and reported her to the superiors. Not surprisingly everyone in the force was FURIOUS not only were they on nation wide news but now the BOS on their tails. Not surprisingly Dawn began taking repeated threats from her coworkers as well as her superiors, at some point they threatened to have her terminated for "insubordination" which meant she would lose some of her retirement funds and pensions. At this point she knew that her time as an LAPD officer was over with and she would have to leave. After repeated deaths threats and harassment by her fellow workers, she decided to transfer out to another city all together knowing that she will have to take a massive pay cut in the process. However that wouldnt be the case
It wouldn't be a surprise that she would end up here in Heroine City, after getting a call from Commissioner Monroe she immediately took up the offer and moved to Colmaton. Needless to say she didnt have to take a pay cut in fact she got a massive yearly increase due to the time on the force she already put in. Nothing is as good as having more than what you were worth back in your hometown. It's easy to say she'll fit in nicely with a city full of heroines who will be there back her up if she ever runs into trouble.

It's actually Commissioner Monroe, the Chief is McGhee> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10326851/ <. But yeah, Monroe intervened and with with some media help and BOS, that saved her career. She did make a difference, and kept a few young ones out of prison. And others from joining the prison pipeline.
