Once the beer silos were emptied, the two giants went to the arkship, shrunk and went inside through an opening hidden from the army.
Once inside, Barry took a set of clothes he brought with him and dressed up.
And the visit began.
Syssim showed many elements of the Y'ha-nthlei, the buildings, the workings as a city, the central tower that was the control center of the ship...
Finally, the Deep One brought the werewolf in the innards of the arkship, showing him mechanisms, reactors...
And finally, they entered one of the hibernations zones.
Barry looked in shock around him. From the floor to the ceiling, the walls were covered with innumerable capsules.
Each one of them was filled with a greenish liquid in which floated a Deep One.
Syssim explained how the million of Deep Ones the city had were all in capsules like this, trapped in hibernation because of the damage the ship sustained in the meteor shower.
"But it did manage to free you," commented Barry.
"It had to overload and short-circuit my capsule's system to force it to awaken me and open. Trust me, that was not a pleasant experience. And it was risky. Too risky to try it with everyone."
"And now it's out of the water, it still can't?"
"No. The system's fully out. Taking the ship out of the water allowed it to deactivate everything else and relocate all the energy to the capsules. Thanks to this, the capsules' working time left went from a few days to a few months. It should be more than enough to appeal to your government and ask for help. I hope the AI will manage to convince them..."
A silence.
"Speaking of which, it's more than time to introduce you two."
