well, if she isn't there in the movie scene, and she is there now, it stands to reason she was late to work. And when you're a housekeeper, what's the worst that could happen if you're a little late? A girl outgrows your workplace, of course!

I always liked how Alice never skips leg day.
And I approve of this character and her internal monologue.

Well, technically Mary-Ann is not a new character, she was just absent. Lets make her a thing! A mousy, yet cute (also slightly pervy) mouse maid.

Knowing how scatterbrained the Rabbit is he'd find her by Alice's leg and send her in instead of Bill all the while thinking Mary-Ann got away from the monster. Poor girl would get sneezed into the heavens if she was coaxed down the chimney or get lost in Alice's dress navigating around the inside maybe tickling Alice and causing the whole place to shake and rumble.

I had an idea for a story myself:
Mary-Ann decides to have a better look and climbs onto Alices leg. She doesn´t want to make the beautyfull stockings dirty so she takes oh her shoes. As she balances on Alices legt alice notices jher and moves her leg, causing Mary-Ann to almost fall of. Alice quickly catches the poor little maid in her hand and lifts her up to the window. Mary-Ann jumps in and is startled at first, by the giant girl in front of her. Alice calmy talks to her. They talk for a while and notice how pleasant they find each other. Mary-Ann says how much she wished she had a mistress as kind and gentle as Alice, she is quite fed up by being pushed around by the rabbit.. Alice says, well maybe we could arrange something if Mary_ann could help her get out of the house. Mary-Ann wonders how Alice got that big anyway. Alice tells her about the cookie. Mary-Ann is amazed, thats why the white rabbit forbade her to ever eat from those. Mary-Ann thinking quickly, she grabs all of the cookies from the bowl and stuffs them in her apron pockets, then she eats the last two. "Hold on tight, mistress Alice, we will get out of this in an instant." Mary -Ann grows and grows, filling the last gaps of room in the house. Mary-Anns arms grow out of the windows next to Alices arms, her stocking clad feet break out of the back of the house. Mary-Ann gasps as she and Alice are pressed into each other. She grasps Alices hads as finally the house gives way and crumbles apart around them. They stand up and dust them selves off. Alice thanks Mary-Ann, but gasps as Mary_ann is still growing. Mary ann marvels at herself and at the shrinking world around herself. Soon she picks Alice up and puts ehr in her apron pocket. "Dont worry, mistress, I will take good care of you. "As soon as Alice was dropped into the pocket she started to grow along with Mary-Ann for some reason. They grow and grow, soon Mary-Ann outgrows the world, soon the planet system and even more. where will they end up? What marvels will they see?

I like her, I think you should draw her again sometime since not many know of Mary-Ann.

Hmmm, now that you mention it, I had always wondered who The White Rabbit constantly confused Alice with during those scenes in any adaption, and seeing it be a mouse maid, makes the whole flustered bunny's actions and attitude all the more...well, Wonderland type of mindset.

And speaking of mindset, Mary-Ann's thinking is actually pretty pragmatic, as all that fabric would provide quite the variety of wardrobe...though, those thoughts do drift to some pretty warm blooded territory~

I'd certainly like to see more of this character, give her some time to shine after being nudged into obscurity...although, being so close to Alice (whom I'm sure will likely treat her friendly enough, albeit confused by Mary-Ann's request), I can only imagine that currently large lass's luck will rub off on the poor mouse and well, seeing how most of her adventures play out...~

I really hope I'll inspire people to do stuff with that character, to write some stories and draw some art. I think there is a lot of potential here. Most residents of Wonderland are rude jerks, she is probably one of the kindest and politest persons you will ever meet there. She is definitively also long suffering. Remember what a pushy, rude prick the white rabbit was when he mistook Alice for her? Mary-Ann has to deal with this shit all day, every day. So there is a lot we can do here, maybe Mary-Ann trying some cookies herself? Or joining Alice for some adventures? Her daily life with the rabbit? As I said, a ton of potential.
