He's basically ionizing the air and separating the ions in the centre of his paws...
The light blue is color of air leftover, the reddish orange are neon ionts and the pinkish purple is Argon.
Pretty useless but beautiful stuff...it's pretty harmless by itself but the ionized gas in the middle of the round ball spreads apart fast like in lightning so when the ball disappears the air fills the empty space making a little thunder like implosion. *plop*
